Lone Star College-Fairbanks Center to hold fall festival
On Friday, October 28th, The Lone Star College-Fairbanks Center will hold their annual Fall Festival. The festival offers a safe alternative to trick-or-treating for children and families from Lone Star College Fairbanks Center and the surrounding area.
Come prepared to enjoy moonwalks, games, prizes and food. Also, don’t forget to wear your favorite costume to the even as well. The event will be held from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Lone Star College Cypress campus. It’s located at 14955 Northwest Fwy in Cypress.

Houston Housing Market Strengthens In September
The Houston Association of Realtors reported Tuesday that the Houston housing market saw spikes in the number of sales, prices rose and the available inventory dropped. Last month there were 4,635 single-family sold. That’s a 17% increase over the numbers in the same month last year. It’s also the fourth straight month of increase. Year-to-date sales are up 3.2% as well.
The median price in September rose 1.6% to $157,500.00. The median price represents the number where half of the homes sold for more and half sold for less. Analyst see these trends will continue for the area.
Mortgage rates continue to be very attractive at the moment even though they ticked up slightly after a positive jobs report.

Fired BofA Execs get $11M Golden Handshake
Let’s see, the Bank of America executives get $11 Million as they are ushered to the door. They’re now going to charge you $5.00 per month to access your own money. They’re laying off thousands of workers over the next year. They just announced that they are leaving the correspondent lending channels. That will cause small to mid-sized local banks to cut their staffs because BoA just closed their lines of credit (that’s correspondent lending) with them which prevents them or at a minimum significantly impacts their ability to loan money. And you’re allowing Bank of America to originate, close and fund your new mortgage loan?
Maybe the consumers should send them a message! Work with a local mortgage company. One that employs local people and not one based in North Carolina. Put the great people of Houston to work for you!
